Karen  before her smile makeover. She had mismatched colors between older crowns and tetracycline stained teeth as a child. The midline cant of the central incisors is more noticeable here as she smiles as is the different levels of the edges of all of the teeth.

The restoration of the upper arch corrected the plane of occlusion, the cant of the midline, the uneven length of the incisors and the uneven gum line.

Karen had significant graying and yellowing  of the natural teeth from tetracycline as a child. This photo is from before her power bleaching appointments.

The teeth after Deep BleachingTM but before her upper teeth makeover had begun. The most notable thing about the before and after now is in the curvature of the upper teeth before our treatment. This is called a reverse smile line. Her phonetic needs prevented us from eliminating the curve 100%. We initially had her teeth longer than the final length we ended up at and had to shorten them for her speech requirements. This is always a common finding in correcting this problem...sometimes the patient cannot accept a severe change in their tooth position and compromises have to be made. Still, the results are spectacular and near perfect.

Now Karen has much less difference between the colors of her upper and lower teeth. While there is still the banding effect of the tetracycline stain, it it much less noticeable. The significant leveling of the plane of occlusion, an the cant of the midline can be more readily seen with the teeth together. The lateral and central incisors are more in line with the posterior teeth now also. Some of this improvement came from the lengthening of the incisors and some from the shortening of the canines and bicuspids.
