A measles epidemic
was threatening Kenya during our stay so the public health
core was inoculating everyone against the disease. The nurses
from Narok are gathered across the playing field of the school
to give the vaccine.

The view from
school, looking back down the road back at the new town of
Olmekenyu. None of these buildings was built prior to the
construction of Mercy Clinic. The clinic has spurred growth,
hope and jobs. As a matter of fact, the District Commissioner
called this region the "Forgotten People" because no
paved roads go into the area and not even dirt roads exist
past this school setting.
