Karen smiles just like this when she enjoys the sunsets from her porch on the shores of Lake Lanier.

When Karen was was on set for our "Smile of the Year" smile makeover TV video she was all smiles...well, most of the time!

"I'm finally retired....from working in the business world, that is!  Now, after 30 years as an executive assistant in the State Capitol and in the corporate world,  I am doing volunteer work as a Board Member of the Gwinnett Children's Shelter, the Board of Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful and as the past chair of the Hi-Hope Service Center in Lawrenceville for Adults with developmental disabilities. I'm smiling because I am married to a great guy, Steve Hill and that we are celebrating our 21st wedding anniversary this year! Steve is the President and CEO or SKH Enterprises, Inc.

What makes me smile the most is my son, Tyler Helms, who is the Senior Account Executive with Deutsch Advertising in Manhattan where he oversees the accounts of the Michael J. Fox Foundation and Olympus Camera. Tyler graduated from the University of Georgia with a major in Broadcast Journalism.

I smile when my cat, Princess Lanier wakes me up in the morning.  I smile when my three Shih Tzu's, Queenie, Ace and Jax greet me at the door when I return home."
